The Potty Poncho™
was designed by Kristine Gibson, a stay-at-home mother, who was faced
with the dilemma of what to do when her daughter had to use the potty
while out in public. The challenge of keeping her daughter from holding onto
the toilet was the biggest issue. After researching different products,
she found nothing that met her number one need– something that
protected her daughters hands. She designed the Potty Poncho to
fulfill this need. After using the Potty Poncho herself, she wanted
to share her product with other parents who are faced with the same
dilemma.
Kristine received her undergraduate degree in 1993
from the University of Missouri-Columbia in Textile and Apparel
Manufacturing with an emphasis in marketing. She went on to receive her
graduate degree from Central Missouri State University in Social
Gerontology. For eight years she directed fundraising efforts for higher
education and not-for-profit organizations in Missouri and Illinois.
After her daughter was born, she packed up her suits and became a
full-time stay-at-home mother.
